League Example: Triple Team Coed (Triples)

End-to-end setup and operations guide for a coed triples league season.

This guide is for event directors, event managers, and organization admins.

What you’re running

A triples league where teams have 3 players (coed division).

Model in Paddles Up

  • One Event with Type = League for the season
  • One Competition inside the event named Triple Team Coed
  • Teams are groups of 3 participants
  • Phases drive standings (Group Play) and optional playoffs (Bracket)

End-to-end (UI flow)

1) Create the league season event

  1. Open Events.
  2. Tap New Event.
  3. Select the host Organization.
  4. In Event details:
    • Set Type to League
    • Set Date & time (season start / first play date)
    • Set Season end date (optional)
  5. Tap Create Event.

2) Add participants

  1. Open the new league event.
  2. Go to the Participants tab.
  3. Add all players for the season.

3) Create the competition

  1. Go to the Competitions tab.
  2. Tap Add Competition.
  3. Set:
    • Name: Triple Team Coed
    • Team size: 3
  4. Save.

4) Create teams (3 players per team)

  1. Open the Triple Team Coed competition.
  2. Go to the Teams tab.
  3. Create teams and assign 3 participants to each team.

5) Create phases

  • Phase 1: Group Play (regular season standings)
  • Optional Phase 2: Bracket (playoffs)

To set this up:

  1. Go to the Phases tab → Add PhaseGroup Play.
  2. Configure teams, groups, ranking algorithm, and match variant.
  3. Save.
  4. (Optional) Add Phase 2 → Bracket and select advancing teams.

6) Weekly operations

  1. Set the current phase to Active when play begins.
  2. Enter scores for matches as they’re played.
  3. Use the standings table to track rankings.

7) End-of-season

  1. Complete the final phase.
  2. Set the event status to Complete.
