League Example: PPB Tour (Weekly Tournament)
How to run a weekly tournament series as a season, with UI-based steps.
This guide is for event directors, event managers, and organization admins.
What you’re running
A “tour” or season-like series where each week behaves like a tournament stop.
Two supported patterns in the UI
Pattern A: One League event for the whole tour
Use this when you want one season container and you’re okay with each week being a separate competition.
- One Event with Type = League (the tour season)
- One Competition per week (Week 1, Week 2, …)
- Each weekly competition has its own phases and results
Pattern B: One Event per week
Use this when each week should be created, staffed, and completed independently (separate participants, separate results, separate lifecycle).
- One Event (Type = Event) per week
- Competitions/phases live inside each event
End-to-end (UI flow) — Pattern A (one League event)
1) Create the tour season
- Open Events → New Event.
- Select host Organization.
- Set Type = League.
- Set the season start and optional season end date.
- Tap Create Event.
2) Add participants
- Open the tour season event.
- Go to Participants and add players (for the full tour, or as they join).
3) Create one competition per week
For each stop:
- Go to Competitions → Add Competition.
- Name it, for example:
PPB Tour — Week 1PPB Tour — Week 2
- Set team size as needed (singles/doubles).
- Save.
4) Run each week
For the current week’s competition:
- Create teams in Teams.
- Create phases in Phases:
- Bracket, or
- Group Play → Bracket
- Activate phase(s), enter scores, and complete phase(s) when finished.
5) End-of-season
After the final week:
- Ensure all weekly competitions have their phases completed.
- Set the tour season event status to Complete.
