League Example: PPB Tour (Weekly Tournament)

How to run a weekly tournament series as a season, with UI-based steps.

This guide is for event directors, event managers, and organization admins.

What you’re running

A “tour” or season-like series where each week behaves like a tournament stop.

Two supported patterns in the UI

Pattern A: One League event for the whole tour

Use this when you want one season container and you’re okay with each week being a separate competition.

  • One Event with Type = League (the tour season)
  • One Competition per week (Week 1, Week 2, …)
  • Each weekly competition has its own phases and results

Pattern B: One Event per week

Use this when each week should be created, staffed, and completed independently (separate participants, separate results, separate lifecycle).

  • One Event (Type = Event) per week
  • Competitions/phases live inside each event

End-to-end (UI flow) — Pattern A (one League event)

1) Create the tour season

  1. Open EventsNew Event.
  2. Select host Organization.
  3. Set Type = League.
  4. Set the season start and optional season end date.
  5. Tap Create Event.

2) Add participants

  1. Open the tour season event.
  2. Go to Participants and add players (for the full tour, or as they join).

3) Create one competition per week

For each stop:

  1. Go to CompetitionsAdd Competition.
  2. Name it, for example:
    • PPB Tour — Week 1
    • PPB Tour — Week 2
  3. Set team size as needed (singles/doubles).
  4. Save.

4) Run each week

For the current week’s competition:

  1. Create teams in Teams.
  2. Create phases in Phases:
    • Bracket, or
    • Group Play → Bracket
  3. Activate phase(s), enter scores, and complete phase(s) when finished.

5) End-of-season

After the final week:

  1. Ensure all weekly competitions have their phases completed.
  2. Set the tour season event status to Complete.
