League Example: Mixed Fixed Round Robin

End-to-end setup and operations guide for a fixed-partner mixed round robin league season.

This guide is for event directors, event managers, and organization admins.

What you’re running

Fixed-partner mixed doubles where teams stay the same throughout the season.

Model in Paddles Up

  • One Event with Type = League for the season
  • One Competition named Mixed Fixed Round Robin
  • Teams are fixed pairs (team size = 2)
  • Group Play phase provides the round robin schedule + standings
  • Optional Bracket phase provides playoffs seeded by standings

End-to-end (UI flow)

1) Create the league season event

  1. Open EventsNew Event.
  2. Select host Organization.
  3. Set Type = League, set start date/time, and optional season end date.
  4. Tap Create Event.

2) Add participants

  1. Open the league event.
  2. Go to Participants and add all players for the season.

3) Create the competition

  1. Go to CompetitionsAdd Competition.
  2. Set:
    • Name: Mixed Fixed Round Robin
    • Team size: 2
  3. Save.

4) Create fixed teams (pairs)

  1. Open the competition.
  2. Go to Teams.
  3. Create teams where each team is one fixed pair.

5) Create phases

Regular season (round robin standings)

  1. Go to PhasesAdd PhaseGroup Play.
  2. Configure:
    • Teams: all teams
    • Number of groups: 1 if you want a true full round robin; multiple groups for larger leagues
    • Ranking algorithm and match variant
  3. Save, then set to Active when play starts.

Optional playoffs

  1. After Group Play is completed, add a Bracket phase.
  2. Include only the teams that advance (e.g., top X).

6) Weekly operations

  1. Enter match scores as play completes.
  2. Use standings to track the leaderboard.

7) End-of-season

  1. Complete the final phase (Group Play or Bracket).
  2. Set the event status to Complete.
