Configuring Display Content

How to update what a paired kiosk device shows on screen.

This guide is for event managers, event directors, and organization admins.

You need to be an event manager, event director, or organization admin/owner to update kiosk display content.

Finding your devices

  1. In the main Paddles Up app, go to your organization settings.
  2. Select Kiosks from the sidebar.
  3. You'll see a list of all paired devices for your organization.

Editing display content

  1. Tap a device to open its settings.

  2. Under Display, select the display mode and update the content:

    FieldDescription
ModeThe type of content to show: Text or Score Sheet
MessageThe text shown on screen (Text mode only)
Event / Competition / MatchThe match to show on the kiosk (Score Sheet mode only)
  3. Tap Save.

Score Sheet mode behavior

When a kiosk is set to Score Sheet mode, the display shows an interactive match score sheet optimized for tablet/desktop operators:

  • Grouped games/sets tabs (hidden when only one group exists)
  • Match-level and group-level status dots for completion state
  • Tap-to-edit game scores using a numeric keypad dialog
  • Tap-to-edit lineup slots with selectable participant lists

Changes are autosaved as staff update scores and lineups.

How quickly changes appear

The kiosk TV polls for updates approximately every 10 seconds. After saving, the new content will appear on the TV within about 10 seconds — no manual refresh needed.

Offline behavior

If the TV temporarily loses its network connection, it continues showing the last content it received. A "Reconnecting..." indicator appears on screen until connectivity is restored, at which point it resumes live updates automatically.
